MAIS Program Director, Raphael Foshay, has organized a weekend symposium titled “Identify, Agency & The Digital Nexus,” which will be taking place in Edmonton on April 5 and 6. Below is a message from the symposium organizers with details about the event.
April 5 will be the first day of a weekend symposium organized by MAIS Program Director, Raphael Foshay. “Identity, Agency & The Digital Nexus” will be taking place in Edmonton at the Lister Conference Centre, 87 Ave and 116 St. It is funded in part by a Connection Grant from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. There are many interesting sessions. In particular, think of attending the two plenaries.
Friday, April 5 at 4pm – Andrew Feenberg from Simon Fraser University – “Dialectics of the Digital World”
Saturday, April 6 at 11am – David Gunkel, Northern Illinois University – “Response-Able Machines: The Opportunities and Challenges of Artificial Autonomous Agents”.
