AUGSA awards program.
One of the ways that the AUGSA gives back to our fellow students is by providing financial awards to AU graduate students each year. The Outstanding Distinction Awards for AU Graduate Students, Faculty, and Non-Academic Staff were created in 2010 and are awarded once each year.
The Outstanding Distinction Award for AU Graduate Students is awarded to students who exhibit exceptional balance in the work, school, volunteer, and personal lives. The current value of the Outstanding Distinction Award for AU Graduate Students is $1125 per award. The deadline to apply for this award is May 31. Detailed eligibility criteria and the award application can be found on the AUGSA website.
As noted above, the AUGSA also offers awards to recognize outstanding AU faculty and non-academic staff. These awards allow us to recognize the hard work that the university’s faculty and staff put in to ensure that AU graduate students have an outstanding university experience. There is one award each for faculty and non-academic staff, which are awarded once per year.
The faculty and non-academic staff who win these awards receive a $100 gift card and the AUGSA donates $150 to the library on their behalf. The deadline to nominate a faculty member or non-academic staff member is May 31. Note that faculty and staff are able to nominate their co-workers for this award.
